Young-at-Heart

Liverpool Plains Shire Council recognised the need to assist seniors out with their fitness goals and developed a program called Young at Heart which is held at the Plains Fitness centre every Wednesday at 10.30am.

The program first commenced 10 years ago as Heart Moves, a session developed for cardiac rehabilitation and has since transformed into Young at Heart, a class that is open to absolutely everyone.  Young at Heart aims to work on areas such as balance, strength and coordination thus assisting with improving our everyday activities. The 30 minute session costs as little as $3.00.

Mayor Doug Hawkins OAM said this class is a great opportunity to increase your fitness and health.  It is also a very social event, giving participants a chance to get out and catch up over a cuppa at the end of the class, and form new friendships with other local people.
