Liverpool Plains Shire Council is calling on residents to recognise the people who make a difference in our community, with nominations now open for the 2027 Australia Day Awards.
Mayor Charlie Simkin said the awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals across the Liverpool Plains Shire.
“Everywhere we look throughout our communities we are surrounded by people making a difference every single day. Whether it is through volunteering, supporting a worthy cause, achieving great things in local or regional sport or simply giving up their precious time and energy to strengthen our community, it is the efforts of these dedicated community members that makes our communities great places to live, work and play”, Cr Simkin said.
“The annual Australia Day Awards are our opportunity to recognise these invaluable contributions and openly celebrate the people who routinely go above and beyond to for our community’s benefit,” he said.
“We all have a friend, work colleague, family member or neighbour who deserves recognition for the important work they do. Nominating them is a simple but meaningful way to say thank you and acknowledge the difference they make.”
