Sister City partnership
We have a Sister City relationship with Blacktown City Council, the largest council in New South Wales. Signed in 2005, the agreement has fostered strong connections between our two local government areas in education, economic development, sport, culture and youth exchange.
Blacktown City Council is located in Sydney's west and is situated 360km from Liverpool Plains. The population of Blacktown City Council is 395,000 people with 1 in 68 Australians residing within the Local Government area. 2.8% of the people are from an Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander background. The residents within Blacktown City hold 188 different birthplaces with over 182 languages spoken across the City area.
