Council supports and administers various committees and advisory groups and is represented on numerous external committees and organisations. The appointment of Councillor committee members and delegates is traditionally reviewed each year at Council's September Ordinary Meeting.
The Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee provides independent assurance and oversight to Liverpool Plains Shire Council on how the organisation is functioning and managing risk.

Liverpool Plains Shire Council is an active member of the Namoi Joint Organisation of Councils, a group of councils which works together to deliver ambitious projects and priorities for the Gunnedah, Liverpool Plains, Tamworth and Walcha communities.
