Infrastructure and transport services
Roadworks are funded from Federal and State Government grants and general revenue. Liverpool Plains Council also undertakes planned bituminous patching and periodic bitumen resealing to rejuvenate existing seals.
Council also conducts maintenance grading, gravel re-sheeting and patching of unsealed roads, as well as shoulder grading and slashing, signposting, guide-posting, bridge and culvert repairs and new construction works.
Various classifications of Rural Roads exist within Liverpool Plains Council.
- State Road - New England Highway, Kamilaroi Highway are controlled by the Transport for NSW (TfNSW).
- Regional Roads - Owned and maintained by Liverpool Plains Council - Coonabarabran Road, Gap Road, Lindsay Gap Road, Merriwa Road, Wallabadah Road, Waverley Road and Werris Creek Road.
