Contracts Register

Liverpool Plains Shire Council maintains a Contracts Register in accordance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA Act). The register supports transparency and provides the community with information about certain contracts entered into by Council.

Under the GIPA Act, all NSW public sector agencies, including local councils, are required to maintain a register of government contracts with private sector entities that have, or are likely to have, a value of $150,000 or more, including GST.

The information required to be disclosed varies depending on the type and value of the contract. The GIPA Act also provides for certain information to be withheld from the register, including commercial-in-confidence provisions and information where there is an overriding public interest against disclosure.
