Australia Day Awards

Liverpool Plains Shire Council Australia Day Awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of individuals and community organisations across the Liverpool Plains Shire.

Award categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
    The Citizen of the Year Award recognises commitment to community-based activities over the last 12 months. Citizenship Award nominees should showcase leadership, motivation, initiative, and commitment.
  • Young Citizen of the Year

    The Young Citizen of the Year Award recognises commitment to community-based activities over the last 12 months. Citizenship Award nominees should showcase leadership, motivation, initiative, and commitment.

  • Marie Maunder Community Service Award

    This award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to Community Services of the Liverpool Plains Shire.

  • Local Legend Award

    The Local Legend Award recognises individuals who have worked tirelessly, often without recognition, to support an organisation in its activities or an individual in achieving success in a chosen field.

  • Emergency Services Award

    The Emergency Services Award focuses on identifying instances of extra Community Service that the nominee has undertaken, going beyond their regular emergency services responsibilities.

  • Sportsperson of the Year

    Senior Sportsperson of the Year recognises all the sporting achievements and the number of different sports at which the nominee excels and the level at which they represent i.e, local, regional, state, or national or in recognition of those who have given outstanding services to a sport or sporting organisation over many years.

  • Junior Sportsperson of the Year
  • The Junior Sportsperson of the Year Award recognises the sporting achievements and the number of different sports at which the nominee excels and the level at which they represent (local, regional, state, or national).

 

Nominations are called for each year, around November.
