At its Ordinary Meeting held 29 October 2025, Liverpool Plains Shire Council resolved to endorse the draft Code of Meeting Practice for public exhibition.

Purpose
In accordance with the Local Government Act 1993, Council must adopt a Code of Meeting Practice that incorporates the mandatory provisions of the Model Code of Meeting Practice prescribed by the NSW Office of Local Government. The Model Code of Meeting Practice prescribes a uniform set of meeting rules for local councils across NSW to ensure council meetings are open, accessible, orderly, effective and efficient.
The draft Code of Meeting Practice as exhibited incorporates all mandatory provisions of the Model Code of Meeting Practice, along with some non-mandatory provisions and supplementary provisions relevant to Liverpool Plains Shire Council.
Council is required to exhibit the draft Code of Meeting Practice for at least 28 days and provide at least 42 days for submissions.
Submissions
Submissions on the draft Code of Meeting Practice are invited from members of the public until close of business Wednesday, 10 December 2025.

Next steps
Council's existing Code of Meeting Practice will remain in force until the public exhibition period concludes. The new Code of Meeting Practice will come into effect from the first Ordinary Meeting of Council to be held in the 2026 calendar year.
