Story times back at the Quirindi Library
Published on 18 October 2021
With the new Quirindi Library now open to the public, some of the old favourites like the story time are back on the program.
Story time for children ages up to five years will be held at 10.30, Monday to Friday and for those children aged between five and nine years a session will be held on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 4pm.
Reading with children from an early age helps them develop a solid foundation for literacy. It also promotes bonding and is good for a parent’s relationship with their child. Reading with children also shows them that books can give both pleasure and information.
Babies and young children often enjoy books, songs and stories with good rhyme, rhythm and repetition. Anytime is a good time for a book or story. Try to share at least one book or story each day.
In the weeks ahead, the library team is planning some special guest readers for story time so keep an eye on the Facebook page.
Parents can contact the library by phone (02) 6746 2350, joining the Library’s Facebook page to send messages or by email: quirindi.library@lpsc.nsw.gov.au
Visitors to the Library must produce a Covid-19 double vaccination certificate before they are permitted to enter the premises.
