Liverpool Plains Shire Council is seeking tender applications for works to be completed at the Council Administration Building located at 60 Station Street, Quirindi NSW.

Planned works at the Administration Building will include demolition of existing amenities, and substantial upgrades of the amenities to include disabled access toilets, widening of five internal doors and upgrades to the access ramp into the building. The goal for these works is to improve disabled access for members of the community, visitors to the premises, and Council employees.

Council is proactive in ensuring equal employment opportunities, recognising the value of all their employees and community members and, to this end, have identified that the building needs an upgrade to ensure that no individuals are excluded from accessing the premises.

The Quirindi Council Administration building was opened in 1965, when building standards were considerably different to what they are now in terms of disabled access and amenity. In 2023 Council received funding from the State Government through the Stronger Country Community Funding initiatives for the purpose of upgrading the Council building to ensure there is suitable disabled and ambulant toilet facilities, and that internal doors are compliant with The Disability (Access to Premises-Buildings) Standards 2010.
