Our Plains, Our Future

The Liverpool Plains Community Strategic Plan is our highest level long-term plan for our community.

It reflects our vision, aspirations and priorities for the future and outlines how we will work together to achieve these goals. It maps our journey of:

  • Where are we now?
  • Where do we want to be in 10 years time?
  • How will we get there?
  • How will we know we’ve arrived?

Every four years as a new Council is elected, we work with the community to review and update our Community Strategic Plan.

The Community Strategic Plan sets the strategic direction for the community over the next 10 years and the priorities for how the newly elected Council can work towards achieving the vision over their four-year term. A Community Strategic Plan Information sheet is available here.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the NSW Local Government elections were postponed until Saturday, 4 December 2021.  As a result, our incoming Council will serve for a reduced term of approximately three years.

Council has commenced the process or reviewing and updating our Community Strategic Plan and are inviting residents to have their say on the future of the Liverpool Plains and what's important to them.

A series of community information sessions are planned from 5 March through to 10 March (see table)

Further information

Why are we reviewing the Community Strategic Plan?

As per the legislative requirements of the NSW Government’s Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework, Council is expected to conduct major reviews of the Strategic Community Plan every four years and minor reviews in the second year to assess any shifting community priorities, values, expectations and needs.

Once we complete our review and community consultation process, the incoming Council will adopt a revised Community Strategic Plan reflecting the feedback we have received.  The Community Strategic Plan must be adopted by 30 June 2022.

How can I have my say?

Start by completing the online survey and telling us what's important to you. Over the coming weeks, we will be undertaking further consultation exercises and there will be additional opportunities to get involved and have your say.

This survey will be facilitated by an independent market research company, Morrison Low, and will involve a representative sample of the community. The results of this survey (as well as the online survey) will be collated and made publicly available.

Council will also host community information sessions in March (see graphic) and community focus groups.

When will I get to see the new Community Strategic Plan?

The revised Community Strategic Plan will be placed on public exhibition during April-May 2022.

During this period, all members of the community will be able to submit feedback which will be taken into consideration when confirming the final Community Strategic Plan.
